About Pigeon Island National Landmark
Pigeon Island preserves the ruins, cannons and fortifications of the 18th-century battles between the French and British. Trails lead up to Fort Rodney, built in the 1780s, and to Signal Peak, the island’s highest point, with views over Rodney Bay, Gros Islet and the coast. The Saint Lucia National Trust runs the landmark and a small museum of its military history and natural heritage, and the Saint Lucia Jazz & Arts Festival uses it as a venue. Go in the morning or late afternoon for cooler walking and clearer views.
