Fond Doux is a locally owned colonial estate from the 19th century, still growing cocoa, where cottages hand-built by Caribbean artisans are set among rainforest and tropical gardens. It is quieter than the big resorts and close to Soufrière’s sights; non-residents can visit on the plantation tour.
